It’s been a month since Hurricane Maria hit the American citizens of Puerto Rico. 86% of Puerto Rico is still without power, 28% of our citizens still lack potable water, and the official death toll has risen to 48, with 117 people still unaccounted for. That’s the bad news. The good news is Donald Trump was able to get in three rounds of golf this past weekend.
We're not letting go of this story. Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) did our show this week, and he has been making trips back and forth between Puerto Rico and Harlem where nearly half his constituents are Latino. Congressman Espaillat calls the situation in Puerto Rico "dire." He says our government must offer up a "military solution" to get the island back on its feet because it's quickly turning into a "Carribean Katrina."
