The Latest From Puerto Rico

Posted by David Feldman on Oct 21, 2017 6:10:15 PM

It’s been a month since Hurricane Maria hit the American citizens of Puerto Rico. 86% of Puerto Rico is still without power, 28% of our citizens still lack potable water, and the official death toll has risen to 48, with 117 people still unaccounted for. That’s the bad news. The good news is Donald Trump was able to get in three rounds of golf this past weekend.

We're not letting go of this story. Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) did our show this week, and he has been making trips back and forth between Puerto Rico and Harlem where nearly half his constituents are Latino. Congressman Espaillat calls the situation in Puerto Rico "dire." He says our government must offer up a "military solution" to get the island back on its feet because it's quickly turning into a "Carribean Katrina."

Frank Schaeffer Exposes The GOP & Phony Christians

Posted by David Feldman on Oct 17, 2017 9:55:22 PM

Frank Schaeffer is the author of “Letter to Lucy: A Manifesto of Creative Redemption—In the Age of Trump, Fascism and Lies” available only on iBooks.

He was there at the beginning when the Republicans forged their unholy alliance with Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority. Not only was he there, he helped make it happen. Born into evangelical royalty, Frank Schaeffer spent most of his life flying around on Jerry Falwell’s private jet, hanging out with Billy Graham and his son Franklin Graham. Then he turned his back on both the Republican party and the evangelical movement that hijacked it.

He is the author of the best seller “Why I am an Atheist Who Believes in God.”

Our October 10, 2017 Show

Posted by David Feldman on Oct 10, 2017 4:47:39 PM

This is another amazing episode with the return of Lizz Winstead and Frank Conniff. We're also joined by Comic JOE DEVITO and Constitutional Law Professor COREY BRETTSCHNEIDER.

Lizz Winstead created The Daily Show and Air America, she talks about Harvey Weinstein.

And the good news about Harvey is I'm sure he's the only one in Hollywood who's ever gotten away with that kind of behavior. I mean, C'mon! It's a town that voted for Hillary and speaks up for women all the time. From the New Yorker expose on the Weinstein rape allegations:

Other employees described what was, in essence, a culture of complicity at Weinstein’s places of business, with numerous people throughout the companies fully aware of his behavior but either abetting it or looking the other way. Some employees said that they were enlisted in subterfuge to make the victims feel safe. A female executive with the company described how Weinstein assistants and others served as a “honeypot”—they would initially join a meeting, but then Weinstein would dismiss them, leaving him alone with the woman.

America's Horniest Generation

Posted by David Feldman on Oct 5, 2017 1:20:10 PM

Comedian Jon Ross is one of the funniest storytellers and comedy writers I have ever met. We started together back in San Francisco, and he possesses a steel trap memory for every embarassing moment of my life. His father is a war hero. Part of the greatest generation. For years Jon has been telling me about his dad's sexual exploits in Occupied France. I finally got him to tell my listeners. I really think this is one of the greatest stories about the greatest generation. We are losing them every day. Make sure to visit and then listen to them. I know. They did a number on you and this country, especially when Reagan got elected and they decided to turn their backs on everyone. But they survived World War 2, and they're a better generation than their spawn. Much better.

The Stoller Versus Kindler Feud Continues

Posted by David Feldman on Oct 5, 2017 1:13:47 PM

Comic Fred Stoller used my show on Tuesday to promote his new Kindle Single and then lash out at Andy Kindler. It was terrible what he said about Andy, and I'm sure most of it wasn't true. I don't approve of comedians attacking their fellow comedians. And I will not support this type of behavior of my show. Have a listen. This is not the kind of show I want to do.
